On April 15th, Kowakai, the provider of "Chokusai," a direct recruitment tool utilizing social media, published an interview article about Kagoshima Niyaku Kaiun Transport, a comprehensive logistics company in Kagoshima Prefecture, which successfully recruited young talent.
The port cargo handling worker market is highly competitive, with an effective job opening ratio of approximately 5:4. By utilizing a tool, the company saw an increase in applications via the site from 2 to 24 per year, a roughly 12-fold increase, and successfully hired four young workers.
<Introducing the case of Kagoshima Cargo Handling and Land Transportation>

According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in January-February 2025, the job-to-applicant ratio for port cargo handling workers reached 5.22, significantly higher than the average of 1.14 for all occupations. Compared to the job-to-applicant ratio for truck drivers (2.61), the shortage of port cargo handling workers is even more serious.
Furthermore, according to the ministry's survey on the "age composition of port workers," the average age of port workers has risen to 43.6 years old (2020 survey: 42.9 years old), clearly indicating that the workforce is aging.
Against this backdrop, Kagoshima Niyaku Kaiun Transport also attempted to increase its recognition among younger generations, but faced the challenge of being overshadowed by competitors on major recruitment platforms, making it difficult to convey its appeal.

Therefore, they shifted to a direct recruitment tool utilizing social media. By directly delivering job postings to individuals with the characteristics the company was looking for, as well as those with experience in the same industry, through social media and web media, they were able to increase the number of applicants and secure young talent.
