Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) issued a warning on April 28th, urging passengers to submit accurate product names for shipments destined for and passing through China, and for shipments destined for and passing through the EU.

NCA has observed instances where cargo information submitted by customers for shipments destined for or passing through China does not meet customs requirements.

This has resulted in NCA receiving stern warnings from Chinese authorities, and now they have been warned that if they do not meet the requirements for public notice, they will be subject to formal administrative penalties, including fines.

Failure to submit correct product information may result in delays in customs clearance and delivery at the destination, as well as the imposition of fines. If the customer is found to be at fault, the company may also request a fine.

To avoid this, the NCA warns against declaring goods with vague names, which are listed as "Non-Acceptable" in "Announcement No. 144 of 2019, Annex 16."

In the EU, too, prohibited expressions will be added to product names starting May 4th, so customers will similarly be required to submit accurate product names. Similarly, if the product name is not submitted accurately and the customer's negligence is found, they will be fined.
