FamilyMart to streamline logistics by increasing the number of temperature-controlled deliveries in the Hokuriku region to two per day. September 10, 2025 |
The temperature-controlled delivery service will deliver approximately 800 items, including rice balls and bento boxes, and will be available to approximately 1300 stores in the Tohoku region and parts of Niigata Prefecture.
As a precedent, in September 2025, approximately 550 stores in the Hokuriku region reduced the number of temperature-controlled deliveries from three to two per day, resulting in improved loading efficiency in logistics and delivery, reduced CO2 emissions due to shorter driving distances, and increased productivity at rice processing plants.
Following this, similar measures will be applied in the Tohoku region and Niigata Prefecture. This change in structure is expected to reduce total driving distance by 670 million km per year and CO2 emissions by approximately 3%.
FamilyMart states that it will not only reduce costs by streamlining its entire supply chain and ensuring a stable supply of goods, but will also work to build an efficient logistics system that will benefit franchisees and reduce food waste and CO2 emissions in an environmentally conscious manner.
