On June 24, Logizard released a case study of Ikeda Shoten (Kotohira-cho, Kagawa Prefecture), a food wholesaler that achieved improved operational efficiency and labor savings by adopting its cloud WMS "Logizard ZERO" and integrating it with its 6D sorting robot "Omni Sorter".
Ikeda Shoten supplies food to schools, hospitals, and nursing homes throughout Shikoku, and introduced "Logizard ZERO" in 2023 to reduce shipping errors and standardize operations.
Subsequently, in order to address challenges such as increased shipping volume due to the expansion of bases and difficulties in recruiting personnel, they introduced the "Omni Sorter," which can be integrated with "Logizard ZERO," in 2026.
By implementing an operation that manages everything from order placement to shipment using "a single data set," and by automating sorting operations, the working time in the frozen warehouse was reduced by approximately one-third, and shipping time was reduced by approximately 50%, further promoting labor savings and operational efficiency.
In response, Ryo Suzuki, Executive Officer and Head of the Corporate Planning Office at Ikeda Shoten, and head of the Niihama Logistics Center, stated, "The introduction of 'Logizard ZERO' marked our first step towards digital transformation, and it has become a catalyst for business expansion."
Since its founding in 1957, Ikeda Shoten has supported customers in the food industry. In 2022, it opened a logistics center (Niihama City) and a vegetable processing center (Saijo City) in Ehime Prefecture. In 2024, it will also establish a new logistics center in Matsuyama City.
