The new center will serve as a crucial hub for trunk line transportation in the Kanto area, consolidating and sorting cargo from various locations and connecting it to its next destination. By enhancing the efficiency of cargo consolidation, it will improve the loading efficiency of large trucks and optimize the number of vehicles in operation. Furthermore, by improving transportation efficiency, it will contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and support the realization of sustainable logistics.
The Kanto Hub Center has a total floor area of 87,561 m2 (the entire facility housing the transit center), a processing capacity of 50,000 packages per hour, and 162 truck berths. The facility will incorporate automated equipment to improve the efficiency and reduce the number of people required for sorting. This will optimize personnel allocation and is planned to maintain and improve logistics quality and build a stable transportation system.
The company is strengthening its hub functions in major areas across Japan and working to build a more efficient and environmentally friendly transportation network. In the Kanto area, it plans to further enhance the stability and efficiency of the transportation network centered on the Tokyo metropolitan area by linking the Kanto Hub Center with the relay functions of the existing large-scale logistics facility "X Frontier".
Furthermore, the "Kansai Hub Center" is scheduled to begin operations in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture in February 2027, and the "Kyushu Hub Center" in Fukuoka Prefecture in 2028.
The company plans to sequentially develop a large-scale hub network connecting the Kanto, Kansai, and Kyushu regions, aiming to create a sustainable transportation system that can respond to future increases in cargo volume and changes in transportation demand by optimizing trunk line transportation, improving loading efficiency, reducing CO2 emissions, and improving logistics quality.
