Mitsubishi Estate, Tokyo Distribution Center (TRC), and NANKAI agreed on July 13 to begin joint studies aimed at improving logistics efficiency by enhancing the connection efficiency between trunk line transportation and last-mile transportation.

TRC and NANKAI signed a business alliance agreement in April 2025. Mitsubishi Estate has now joined the joint discussions.

By linking TRC's logistics facility in Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo, NANKAI's Higashi-Osaka and Kita-Osaka distribution centers, Mitsubishi Estate's logistics facilities under development as part of its LogiCross series, and a next-generation core logistics facility directly connected to an expressway interchange, the aim is to realize a logistics network connecting major cities.

The three companies have agreed that Mitsubishi Estate's next-generation core logistics facilities planned in the Kanto region (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture), Chubu region (Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture), and Kansai region (Joyo City, Kyoto Prefecture) will serve as "main hubs" for trunk line transportation, while the LogiCross series will serve as "sub-hubs."

Furthermore, TRC and NANKAI will position their urban logistics hubs as "relay points connecting trunk line transportation and last-mile transportation," and will work together on joint studies and demonstration experiments to maximize the connection efficiency between these facilities.

The three companies are working together to improve logistics efficiency and enhance connectivity between their various locations, aiming to build a logistics network that will help solve social issues such as the shortage of truck drivers and the risk of disruptions to logistics functions.

Integrating with TRC/Dynamic Map, we are developing an autonomous driving infrastructure using a 3D map of the premises.
