On August 18th, Hacobu launched "Berth Mobile," a smartphone web application for its truck reservation service "MOVO Berth."
This system allows on-site personnel responsible for berth management at logistics centers, warehouses, and factories to check berth status, register and call trucks, etc., from their smartphones without having to go to a shared PC or tablet.
MOVO Berth is a truck reservation service that allows users to book truck arrival times in advance, reducing waiting times. According to the company, it will be used by more than 46,000 businesses by the end of July 2026.
As the technology becomes more widespread, more and more workplaces are managing multiple berths with a single shared PC or tablet. This solution addresses the needs of staff members who are constantly on the move guiding vehicles and inspecting goods, who want to "check the status of the berths on the spot using their smartphones" and "complete registration and call procedures on the spot when leaving their posts for guidance or inspection."
Berth Mobile's key feature is its ability to provide a clear overview of daily bookings and progress on a vertical timeline. You can see which trucks are arriving next and which berths are currently being used, from anywhere on site.
Furthermore, the screen was designed with one-handed operation in mind, making frequently used on-site functions such as reception and calling easily accessible with minimal operation. Contacting drivers is also simple; a call can be made by simply tapping the phone number displayed on the screen.
Because it's a web application, there's no need to install a dedicated app or distribute additional devices. It can be used from devices you normally use, such as company-issued smartphones.
MOVO Berth also offers an "automatic update function" to keep the berth schedule always up-to-date. When implemented in conjunction with this, it becomes possible to share the overall situation on large displays in the office or on-site, while staff members use Berth Mobile to handle on-site reception and calls.
The company plans to combine AI with data such as truck arrival times and waiting times accumulated through MOVO Berth to advance "AI-Driven Logistics," which will support decision-making in logistics operations.
