On September 2nd, BRAVELOGIS announced a case study of Kyowa, a company that manufactures, sells, and rents temporary construction materials using textiles, which has implemented "TruckCALL."

"TruckCALL" is a cloud-based berth management service that centrally manages truck reservations, check-ins, and calls via LINE, phone, and SMS. Drivers visiting for the first time can use it without a dedicated app or ID, and it automatically records and visualizes waiting and loading/unloading times.

Kyowa reports that they were able to reduce the average waiting time for trucks at their major centers nationwide from approximately 2 hours to approximately 30 minutes, a reduction of 75%.

Kyowa

At Kyowa's Ichikawa and Atsugi centers, up to 100 trucks would come and go in a single day at peak times, and there were sometimes as many as 20 vehicles waiting to be served. Because there was no designated waiting area on the premises, vehicles waiting in line had to wait on the street, which sometimes led to complaints from nearby residents and warnings from the police.

On-site staff were busy throughout the day distributing numbered tickets and calling out trucks when their turn came, and the entry and exit procedures themselves were putting pressure on their regular duties. This urgent need for improvement led to the adoption of "TruckCALL."

After implementation, the vehicle waiting and queues that had been occurring around the Ichikawa Center were eliminated, freeing on-site staff from the tasks of distributing numbered tickets and searching for and calling vehicles. They were then able to concentrate on their core duties, such as loading and unloading and processing invoices.

Because registration information can be checked in advance, preparations such as processing paperwork can begin even before the vehicle arrives. Drivers have also commented that it's "easier to be able to register without getting out of the truck" and "convenient to be able to reserve a place in line before arriving."
