In the back rooms of retail stores, it's necessary to store a diverse range of products in a limited space while also being able to quickly replenish the sales floor. On the other hand, tasks such as product retrieval, inventory management, and lifting and lowering items stored at high places can lead to increased workload and safety issues for staff.

The demonstration project applied the features of "CUEBUS," a system that enables three-dimensional high-density storage without the need for aisles and automatically transports necessary items to designated locations, to a store backroom. The project verified the effective use of limited space, the time required for storing, searching for, and retrieving items, the physical burden on workers, safety, and compatibility with existing store operations. The goal is to realize a new logistics operation in store backrooms.
