The Physical Internet Center (JPIC) will begin accepting applications on October 1st for the "Physical Internet Award (PI Award)," which recognizes the efforts of companies and organizations toward the realization of the Physical Internet (PI).
The target is companies, institutions, and organizations with business offices in Japan that are working towards achieving PI (Public Initiative).
The program is divided into two categories: the "Social Implementation Category," which focuses on initiatives that have moved beyond the demonstration experiment phase and are continuously operating as services or operations in real society; and the "Pilot Project Category," which focuses on initiatives that have undergone demonstration experiments in actual operating environments and whose specific challenges and effects have been confirmed.
The evaluation will be based on four criteria: "innovativeness and novelty," "ripple effect on other fields and industries," "economic viability and efficiency," and "efficiency in achieving PI (Primary Initiative)."
The application period is from October 1st to November 30th. There is no application fee, and the selection process will consist of a first stage of document review and a second stage of review by the selection committee.
The symposium will select winners for the top prize and other awards in each category, and the awards ceremony will be held at the "Physical Internet Symposium 2027" on February 26, 2027. Award-winning companies will also be given the opportunity to present their initiatives at the symposium.
