On September 29, LogiNet Japan held a groundbreaking ceremony in Obihiro City, Hokkaido, for the construction of its logistics hub, "LNJ Obihiro Center (tentative name)."
After its scheduled completion in January 2028, the facility will be operated by Sapporo Transport, a consolidated subsidiary. The existing center will be renovated and will serve as a new hub for LogiNet Japan Group's nationwide transportation, connecting the Hokkaido/Tokachi area with the rest of Japan.
The new center will be a two-story building with a total floor area of 3045.50m2, doubling the size of the loading and unloading area compared to the current facility. The truck berths will be designed to allow wing trucks to directly access the berths and enable smooth loading and unloading from the side. In addition, a temperature-controlled warehouse will be added to maintain the quality and storage of goods that require temperature control.
The planned construction site is close to the "Memuro-Obihiro Interchange" and located within a major industrial park in Obihiro City. It is also close to other industrial areas in Obihiro City and Memuro Town, and has good access to JR Freight's "Obihiro Freight Station."
It will function as a wide-area relay facility, covering not only the Tokachi region but also the entire eastern Hokkaido area, including the Kushiro region.
Sapporo Transport is a business company within the LogiNet Japan Group, which operates in four regions across Japan (Hokkaido, East Japan, West Japan, and Kyushu), and is responsible for logistics in the Hokkaido area.
With multiple logistics bases in major cities throughout Hokkaido, the company has played a vital role in distributing agricultural products from Tokachi, known as "Hokkaido's food base," to various parts of the country.
The construction of the new center aims to further expand transportation capacity and meet customer needs.
