Nippon Express Holdings (HD) and Japan Airlines (JAL) announced on October 1st that they will begin a transportation partnership within Asia and between North America and Asia, utilizing Boeing 747 freighter aircraft (747F) operated by JAL in collaboration with its partners.

NXHD's Senior Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of Global Business Division, Satoshi Otsuji (left), and JAL's Executive Officer and General Manager of Cargo and Mail Division, Yuichiro Kito (right), shake hands.
The service operates on a circular route starting from Los Angeles, passing through Narita, Taipei (Taoyuan), Singapore, and Narita again, returning to Los Angeles, meeting the active needs between North America and Asia, as well as within Asia.
The inaugural flight will depart from Los Angeles on October 3, 2026. Operations will begin with one flight per week in 2026, with plans for further network expansion.
Currently, there is a very high demand for AI and semiconductor-related cargo between Tokyo, Taipei, and Singapore, but within Asia, there are few airlines operating large cargo planes, limiting the available options.
By operating the Narita-Taipei-Singapore-Narita route with a 747F aircraft with a maximum payload of approximately 100 tons, we will provide a unique, high-value-added service as an important network within Asia.
Because cargo can be loaded and unloaded at each port of call along the circular route, it enables the design of diverse transportation routes and efficient transportation operations, flexibly meeting the cargo transportation needs between North America (including Central and South America beyond) and Asia.
