On October 1st, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines held an entrance ceremony to welcome 28 new employees (23 hired as maritime graduates and 5 hired as land-based career employees).
At the induction ceremony, President Jotaro Tamura introduced that the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group is expanding its business beyond shipping to a wide range of fields, including cruise ships and submarine cable laying vessels, and that a new business will begin this December, which will involve operating Arctic research vessels to conduct research and observations in the Arctic Ocean and other areas.
The company explained that the deterioration of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz forced its ships that were in the bay to remain there, prioritizing the safety of the crew, ships, and cargo. It added, "The group's fundamental philosophy is for the organization to work together towards a common goal and achieve results based on shared values and codes of conduct. I hope that as you gain various experiences from now on, you will deepen your understanding of what the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group values and make a great contribution to the development of our business."
